General Conference in Croatia- Temple announced in Budapest, Hungary

We were very excited to watch as many sessions of our Church's semi-annual General Conference as possible with the 8 hour time difference.  During General Conference we hear current counsel from our Prophet Russell M Nelson and our apostles and other general authorities. It is always a wonderful time to get spiritually fed.
     Several church members in Zagreb worked hard to translate and add Croatian subtitles in place for many of the sessions. This enabled the Croatian members to hear the talks spoken in English with the Croatian subtitles for those needing them. On Sunday our Rijeka Branch watched the Saturday morning conference and the Saturday afternoon session. We had a delicious luncheon in between.
     Sunday evening our missionaries came over for conference and pancakes! Perry and I had a 7-8 hour drive to Sremska the next day so we didn't stay up until midnight to hear the announcement of new temples around the world.
     The announcement of a new temple to be built in Budapest, Hungary is life changing for the members of our five countries. Many members travel by bus 11-12 hours to attend the yearly temple trip to Germany or Switzerland being the closest temples. In a few years they will have a temple within a 3-4 hour range. There are also plans for a high-speed rail line from Belgrade to Budapest in 45 minutes.
