Last month we had the fun opportunity of bringing our District to Pula and Rovinj. Our first stop was in Pula, where there is the 6th largest Roman Arena in the world. It was built around 100 B.C. and used until 500 A.D.
We then spent the rest of the day at one of our favorite locations--Rovinj. It became prominent around 1100 AD and was a walled city that was an island for centuries. Because it was double-walled, it was able to protect itself from attackers and from the plague. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed riding bikes along the Adriatic coast with our missionaries. We love them all dearly and love doing things with them. They are such good, young women and men and serve at such sacrifice. We feel privileged to give them a taste of home and help them have fun while they are working so hard.
