Trip to Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia

It's all about compelling stories of real-life members in our countries. As we assist in sharing the gospel it makes sense that social media is a great way to share the gospel. We've gotten to know amazing members of our church who have gone through many challenges in life and are so strong in their faith and dedication to their family and faith. It has opened our eyes to get to know them. It's an honor to learn from them.

     For instance in Serbia, we have pioneer members who have laid the foundation for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Serbia. It was very difficult to be a member of the Church in communist Yugoslavia. Our Church is still not widely known in Serbia. 

      We went to Sremska to train two wonderful members on how to interview long-time Church members as a way of obtaining a simple digital audio personal history of them. They and we are very excited to capture personal history accounts of some pioneer church members.

     We were also excited to see Sister Taylor who served in Rijeka with us for 5 months. She and Sister Garside are the only young missionaries in Sremska. We enjoyed being with them.

     We also enjoyed having dinner at an outdoor restaurant with Elder and Sister Phillips visiting until 10 pm.
