2 fun days with Sister Turville and Sister Edwards

Sister Turville and Sister Edwards both serve as senior sisters helping run the mission office in Zagreb. They arrived in our city Thursday evening by bus. We gave them a brief tour of Trsat and downtown Rijeka . We enjoyed palačinke with our missionaries. Sister Turville and Sister Edwards stayed the night in the same apartment Heather and Brett had stayed in which is walking distance of our place. The owner is so gracious and welcoming you'd want to stay at his apartment just to meet him!

     Friday we headed to the coast and beautiful Rovinj. We climbed the 192 wooden stairs of the Bell Tower (built 1654-1680) attached to the Church of Saint Euphemia. We had seafood for dinner and walked all over the old city enjoying the narrow colorful streets.   We spent the night in Rovinj. Our bed and breakfast spot was so pretty with quaint touches.

The next morning we drove to Bled, Slovenia and just happened upon a Medieval festival at the Bled castle. People who are involved with Medieval artistry were gathered here from all over Europe. We heard music and saw knights sword fighting.

     We next had a brief stop in Bohinj, Slovenia which has more of a summer camping feel to it. We ended our trip in beautiful Ljubljana, Slovenia. We had traditional Slovenian barley soup and then ice cream with a few of the wonderful missionaries. It was a fun weekend with beautiful weather!
