Christmas with our family here in Croatia- Our Rijeka Missionaries

We really missed being with our family for Christmas! But we enjoyed celebrating Christmas with our 4 young missionaries- Sister Taylor, Sister Roberts, Elder Bird and Elder Stastny. Perry was so sweet to buy small personal gifts for each missionary so they'd have something to open on Christmas Day. It's very expensive to mail packages to our mission countries. We celebrated with many of our Christensen Christmas traditions. We had a sweet devotional on Christmas Eve with each of us sharing our favorite scripture and favorite Christmas tradition. Then we played a game to discover the best chocolate in Europe tasting chocolate from several different countries. On Christmas morning the missionaries came over at 8 am for banana-stuffed french toast and scrambled eggs and ham and we opened a few presents. We then walked to Trsat for some fresh air. Around 3 we enjoyed Christmas dinner and played games. New Year's Eve fell on a Monday which is the day young missionaries have personal time to grocery shop, e-mail family and have fun. So we had a New Year's eve dinner and games and munchies! But we celebrated from 2- 5 pm!
