Mission Irony

Last winter when we were getting ready for our mission. Perry said "I feel like we have so many different responsibilities. I can't wait until we're on a mission and we can both focus on one responsibility!" Little did we know that we'd be wearing so many hats on our mission. We are both called as Public Affairs Directors for our 5 countries and in 3 languages, which in itself has many facets--Social Media, Public Relations, engaging people in missionary discussions through Facebook posts (a unique pilot program in just a few countries in Europe), Government Relations, writing articles for the Liahona and Facebook, collaborating with Church film crew to do filming in each country, etc.  We document and photograph people and events.  I'm the mission nurse but Perry helps me with this all of the time.  Every day there is at least one medical issue we deal with.  Today, Perry got called as the Branch President for our Rijeka Branch. We've really grown to love the members and investigators in our branch.  Up until now an amazing Elder Froc was the Branch President for the last 8 months.

We're learning so much from the young missionaries serving in our mission. The missionaries work so hard to learn the language and to find those who are interested in learning more about faith and God. The young missionaries and senior missionaries are examples to us of dedication. It's so enjoyable to get to know the young and senior missionaries. We'll have a bond forever with the ANM missionaries.
I'm grateful to be on a mission with Perry. We get to spend 24/7 together which is terrific. We don't have any family responsibilities so we can devote all of our time to our missionary responsibilities.
